The FaSTAR-XT PGS DNA/RNA Kit (I) is a highly efficient and reliable solution for extracting viral DNA and RNA from a wide range of specimens, including swabs, whole blood, stool, and urine. Each cartridge comes pre-loaded with all necessary reagents, allowing users to process samples quickly and with minimal handling. The extraction protocol is rapid, completing in under 12 minutes without requiring any pre- or post-processing steps. The kit's design supports high and low throughput, accommodating anywhere from 1 to 48 samples at a time, which adds flexibility for different laboratory needs. By effectively removing impurities and inhibitors, the kit consistently delivers high-quality nucleic acids compatible with downstream applications such as PCR and qPCR. Its performance has been validated across diverse viral targets, demonstrating high sensitivity and specificity. Overall, the FaSTAR-XT PGS DNA/RNA Kit (I) is ideal for fast, simple, and contamination-free nucleic acid extraction, supporting a variety of testing scenarios.

  • Q: Lower nucleic acid recovery than expected?

A: Sample homogenization was incomplete. Incomplete homogenization samples results is loss of yield within particulates and clump of debris. / The starting samples were compromised. Ensure that samples (e.g., for customer-provided internal controls) were collected, shipped and stored according to recommended guidelines. / The FaSTARprep96 Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction System Instrument was set for the wrong method. / Check that the mixing sleeve is properly installed on the plate. Ensure that all plates are installed in the correct orientation before processing. / Check amount and storage conditions of starting materials

    Q: Poor amplification?

A: Paramagnetic particle carryover may cause interference in amplification reaction. Remove particles in Elution Tube by centrifugation.

    Q: Cross-contamination?

A: Avoid splashing when adding a solvent to the plate. To prevent contamination from sample to sample, each sample is equipped with a separate mixing sleeve and is designed to minimize exposure to the melt through rotary mixing operation

Q: Protocol not an option on the instrument?

A: Check the software version of the FaSTARprep96 Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction System instrument. If abnormalities are identified, request the manufacturer to reinstall the firmware version containing the Viral DNA/RNA protocol.
